Context
Why These Numbers Matter for PZ
A number on a pricing page does not tell the full story. Here is what each row actually means when you are running a Project Zomboid server.
RAM: 4 GB is Not Enough for PZ
Project Zomboid defaults to only 2 GB of RAM on the client side, and server RAM fills up fast with mods. A modded server with a typical Workshop modlist of 20 to 40 mods sits at 4 to 5 GB under normal load, with spikes during map generation and player logins. A 3 or 4 GB plan hits its ceiling the moment players start adding mods. 6 GB is the practical starting point for any server that plans to run Workshop content. See our guide on increasing client RAM for more detail.
Server Location Determines Your Ping
Every other host in this comparison runs out of Singapore or Japan, which means your players are routing through international undersea cables just to reach the server. Scourge runs a dedicated node physically in Cebu, Philippines, so your traffic stays in the country. Cebu players connect at under 30ms. Manila players at 30 to 70ms. Read the full regional breakdown in our low-ping settings guide.
Scourge Panel V2 vs Generic Panels
Most game hosts run Pterodactyl, an open-source panel built for generic game server management. Scourge Panel V2 was built specifically for Project Zomboid: a live player map, Workshop mod manager, whitelist controls with auto-whitelist and family share detection, scheduled auto-restarts with in-game player warnings, and automated mod update detection. Every Scourge plan includes full Panel V2 access at no extra cost.
